Mala Joshi is a lawyer, patent and trade-mark agent with over 13 years of private practice experience (both on the litigation and solicitor side) in some of the most prestigious law firms in Canada. Presently, she is General Manager and In-House Counsel at DermEdge Research Inc. She is the Immediate Past Chair of the National Intellectual Property Section of the CBA (under her tenure as Chair, the section won the National Section of the Year Award). She chaired the 2016 Federal Courts Judges Dinner and launched the Diversity Breakfast at IP Day. She is a regular volunteer at Rosethorn Junior School and is the founder of the Islington Heights Book Club. She is a Past Board Member of CAPRA (2007-2009) and the South Asian Women’s Centre (2003-2004). She is a Past Volunteer on numerous Federal Election campaigns in Ontario and Nova Scotia. She is married with two kids. Her interests include running, cooking, and practicing yoga.
