Sandy Thomas

Sandy Thomas is Counsel with the Public Prosecution Service of Canada (PPSC) in Toronto, where she has practised criminal and constitutional law since 1994. She received a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree in Music from York University and her J.D. from Rutgers University, School of Law (Camden). She is called to the Bars of Ontario, and is a former member of the Bars of Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
Currently Ms. Thomas is assigned to the Regulatory Prosecutions team at PPSC in Toronto. She specializes in prosecutions under the Income Tax Act, Excise Tax Act, Excise Act, Customs Act, Criminal Code and other statutes. She does trial and appellate work.
Ms Thomas is founding president of the Canadian Association of Black Lawyers (CABL). She is also the recipient of several awards.
