Hafeez Rupani is Vice-President, Legal Affairs at the Motion Picture Association – Canada (MPA-Canada), an organization who serves as the voice and advocate for major international producers and distributors of movies, home entertainment and television programming in Canada. Hafeez provides strategic and operational advice to MPA-Canada on a wide variety of legal and public policy issues affect MPAA member companies in Canada, including copyright and broadcasting, film classification and distribution, and issues surrounding new technologies and the Internet. Prior to joining MPA-Canada, Hafeez was a Partner in the Intellectual Property (IP) Group at Borden Ladner Gervais LLP (BLG) and served as Regional Leader of both the IP Litigation Group and the Advertising, Marketing & Sponsorship Group. In 2014, Hafeez was recognized in the World Trademark Review 1000 - The World's Leading Trademark Professionals in the category of “Enforcement and Litigation”. Hafeez also has extensive volunteer experience and presently serves as the Chairperson for the Arts & Culture Portfolio on the Aga Khan Ismaili Council for Ontario and as a Board Member for the Ismaili Centers Management Board.
