Christopher R. Martyr

I have general insurance defence litigation practice at Dutton Brock LLP which is downtown Toronto law firm. I have acted on behalf of insurers on various personal injury, general liability, property and subrogation matters in addition to providing opinions on insurance coverage issues. I have also been involved in appeals and motions before the various levels of court in Ontario. My court experience also includes trial work with appearances before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice and various administrative tribunals.
I have written articles and have spoken at seminars for corporate clients on several insurance issues.

I was called to the Ontario Bar in February 2002 and received his BA (Honours), with a Specialization in Public Policy and Administration at York University, followed by law school at Queen's University. In 2008 I lectured at the University of Toronto teaching a course on the Legal Environment of Business. I am currently the Vice-Chair of the Ontario Bar Association Insurance Section and a member of the following organizations: The Canadian Bar Association, The Advocates Society, The Canadian Defence Lawyers Association and The Canadian Association of Black Lawyers.
